"The resort was everything we could have hoped for – luxurious, friendly and well-equipped. Thanks for a great holiday!" – Jonathan, Manchester
"With three under-fives, until now finding the right holiday has been impossible. Your Didim resort was perfect. We're definitely going back next year!" – Susan, Roehampton
We love Cyprus, especially the southern coast. In fact, it was on holiday in Anafotia several years ago that we first came with the idea of Prime Holidays – although on the rare occasions when we catch the scent of charcoal-grilled haloumi, it can seem like yesterday.
For this reason, it should be no surprise that St. Christopher's Village is one of our very favourite resorts.
Situated a short walk from both the picturesque village of Mazatos and some stunning beaches, this delightful complex consists of 21 villas – all with a private swimming pool, air-conditioning and double garage.
Each comes fully furnished and has three bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, marble floors and landscaped garden areas overlooking some fantastic views of the village and rural countryside.
There's laid back bars and traditional restaurants too, all of which are perfect for those looking for a slice of the Mediterranean lifestyle, or even recover from an afternoon on the golf course – an area where Anafotia again comes in to its own.
Golf is well and truly on the up in Cyprus with seven new golf courses under construction on the island, adding to the existing five – the majority of which are within a short taxi ride from the resort.
Of those under development, two are expected to be of PGA standard and three are being designed in conjunction with golfing legends such as Tony Jacklin, Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus.
Located just 6 km from the beach, 3 km from the popular town of Mazatos and 15 km from Larnaca airport, Anafotia also boasts a wealth of history with numerous ancient sites and museums nearby.
The Archaeological Museum has exhibits dating back as far as 3000 BC from the local sights of Kition and Choirokatia, while the former itself houses the remains of an ancient city.
The Pierides Museum holds 3,600 exhibits of the private antique collection of Demetrius Pierides, while the Turkish Fort and Medieval Museum – built in 1625 – is also a popular attraction.
For those looking for more contemporary entertainment, Larnaca contains some of the best nightlife in the region, together with an excellent array of restaurant, bars and shops – again, all within a short taxi ride.
If you'd rather explore at your own pace, car hire is excellent value and conveniently, traffic moves on the left hand side, just like the UK.
